Can you get into UBC or any other university, to study Medicine with IB Math Studies?
I'm in the IB diploma programme and I was just wondering if I could get into medicine at UBC or other universities with IB Math Studies. I have chemistry and physics HL too. Thanks.
When studying medicine ussually the level of mathamatics is not such big deal. I know for a fact that unis in UK dont realy mind the math level, i am not 100% thouh how that is for unis in canada UBC but i think also in unis in canada the final points that you get in the exam are more vital for whether or not you will be accepted then your math level. You can also ofcourse call the UBC admission office about this.
For unis that say they want for example math methods, you also still may have a change bc it is a positive point that you have physics HL, you can then always call a uni and explain your situation, in which you dont have math methods but you do have physics HL (which most students that want to study medicine do not have) and thus this shows you must know some about maths in a sense.
One thing that is very important though for studying meds, is that you have BIO also HL, most unis for meds especially prefer the combo BIO and CHEM HL. Bio is quit vital for wanting to study medicine.
Again my adive for you is, contact the admission ofice of the uni you want to study and ask them what subject and requirements they are looking for.
